City Fun
This week-end Emily and Lisa are in town (Lisa’s train leaves for California from Chicago on Monday; Emily volunteered to drive her up here). Yesterday we went to Taste of Chicago, and shopped the Magnificent Mile (!). Taste of Chicago was so much fun! I think my favorite thing was the fried green tomatoes I tried; other highlights were curry fries and Bailey’s Irish ice cream. The magnificent mile was also fabulous. We saw boutiques for Chanel and Burberry, clothes by Gucci and Prada. I think my favorite store was Sephora. Lakeshore Avenue at sunset and then home, getting a little giggly and slap-happy on the way and making some…indiscreet, shall we say, phone calls (Hi, Justin!).
We went to Community Christian Church this morning and the girls got to see the cafe where I work. This afternoon we’ll go to Ikea! Yay.

Mel, your blog is awesome!! You are definately gifted with blogging. I look forward to keeping up with you this way. It was great talking with you. I miss Ikea and LSD at sunset (don’t rub it in). Hope you continue to enjoy the city….it’s always 1000x better in the summer!

Wow, you miss LSD, eh? I didn’t know you ever took it but…hey, maybe you guys could start offerring it at Roh’s St.? It would be a nice addition to coffee, and would look great displayed beside the scones and coffee cake. I knew the cafe attracted some interesting kinds, Jules, but I didn’t realize that certain special quality extended to my fellow baristas. Well, when I get back in town you’ll have to make me a “special” latte.
Love ya, girl!
