Fundamental Differences
Sunday I spent a lazy afternoon at my pastor’s house and we sat around watching the Olympics. He, his wife, and I discovered fresh proof of the fundamental differences between men and women. Here is the conversation we had:
Tim: Wow, first the Basketball team loses to Puerto Rico, and now it looks like we’re gonna lose the Beach Volley Ball Semi-Finals to the Australians! This is depressing. It’s not even fun to watch any more.
Me: Oh, I don’t know. It’s still fun to watch.
Tim: We’re losing!
Me: Yeah, but they’re all kinda cute.
Diane: Yeah, they are aren’t they? No matter who wins it’s fun to watch. Actually I think the Australians are better looking than the Americans.
Tim: Wait a minute, who are you rooting for?
Me: Oh, the Americans. We still want the U.S. to win. But if the Australians beat them you can’t feel too bad about it because they’re hot.
There you have it. Men just want to win. Women enjoy playing games together– “together” being the operative word– or watching others play games together. In this case, those others being extremely tan men with strong bodies and shaggy beach-bum hair.
FYI, The U.S. did eventually beat Australia. Regardless, I’m inspired to learn to play volley ball.

I am more like a guy I guess. I watched the Olympics last night and I kept wishing the Romanian gymnists would mess up so that the US could win gold. I was actually yelling at my TV during the 4×200 freestyle relay when the US beat Australia by .003 seconds. I am super competetive and love the Olypics becuase it is one race, all guts, no second chances. That is sports at it finest, competition at its purest.

I think it just shows that Christian women have a lot of double standards. ^_^
If I was a married man and I said I only rooted for France because the women were hott and had sexy accents, ‘my wife’ would either think that means that she isn’t beautiful or that I am unfaithful in some way.

Yep. But, that is because we are notoriously insecure. Besides I am starting to not care what guys think…I’ll start caring more when a half-way decent one shows any interest in me.
