The cutest little boy ever

Here is a blog that my friend Shannon put up on her site about her almost-three-year-old son, Luke– the cutest little boy ever…except maybe his little brother Logan. I can’t figure out which is the cutest and funniest or which I love best. But then again, I don’t have to. ;-)

1 red sock
I woke up wee early this morning, to meet a friend. I returned home, wide awake, at 7:30 a.m. I am never wide awake at 7:30 a.m. But, it was great because I was able to greet my kids when they woke up! Then I spent a relaxing morning sipping coffe and watching the news. About half way through my relaxing morning, Luke came in the room wearing only 1 red striped sock. The sock was mine, so it covered a good part of his leg. After retreiving his underware from the bathroom he then continued to don, only underware and 1 red sock. I decided to check my e-mail before John left and took the computer. While double checking our schedules for the next couple days we both stop and notice how quiet it is in the house. “Where’s Luke?” John asks. “I dunno” I respond. Then I listen and hear a child . . . outside . . .??? I look out the window and sitting on top of the slide, on our swingset, in the backyard is Luke . . . in his underware and 1 red sock. Try keeping a straight face as you have to drag him inside for timeout!

What a funny story. Don’t you think sometimes that it is a pity you have to teach little kids about modesty? I mean it is so nice when they can just run around naked and not be ashamed. Naked babies are human nature in its purest, unspoiled form. The older we get the more jaded and disillusioned and self-conscious we become. Somebody, please turn back the clock! That sounds depressing but it wasn’t meant to be. I just enjoy watching little kids be natural…the way God created us to be. :-)
