All Grown Up
Tonight I signed a lease on my first grown-up apartment! Not like living in a sorority house. Nope. This place is gorgeous, with glossy hardwood floors and funny slanted ceilings in the bedrooms on the third floor and lots of character. I’m so excited! We’re allowed to move in June 1st. Pictures to follow in a week or so.

In all seriousness, I’m glad it all worked out for y’all. It should be a fun place.

where is this so-called grown up apartment and why are you not coming to miami?

I am not coming to Miami because I suck at life and because my parents are freaking out about me anyways. According to them it is not so much the fact of having to raise money to go volunteer as it is the opportunity cost of the money I wouldn’t be making while I was volunteering. Also, my inhalers are apparently really expensive and not covered by most basic insurance plans.
I don’t know, Jules. I prayed about it. And I prayed about going to D.C. and I prayed about staying here. And then it just sort of happened. How does any of this stuff work itself out?
Maybe five years from now I’ll understand more clearly. In the meantime I have to figure out where to go to grad school the fall after this.
