Mixed Moss

When all is said
When all is done
When I look before me
At a setting sun

When my time is finished
When the test is through
And what I’ve accomplished
Is put on view

No time to finish
What’s left undone
No time to tidy up
For the company’s come

I stand there naked
Conscious only of flaws
The spotlight’s glare
Lighting up broken laws

In the spotlight
As the universe stares
In the tossing sea
Of does-anyone-care

In my weakness
In my despair
In my alone-ness
As my soul is bared

I know not now
How that soul will look
I know not in
What chapter of what book

My story will be written
Nor what will be
The path I’ll have taken
When future is history.

One thing I know
One thing is true
One thing is certain
And that is you.

I just want to be with you.
