See, this is why I brag about my friends…
…they’re just so entertaining. I can’t comment on Candyce’s blog, because it isn’t a blog, it’s a Xanga. So I have to give her “e-props,” as they call it, or comments by posting here, on my own site. So, check this out. It’s from her most recent post and I find it entertaining. Hence, why I’m bragging about her.
She was talking about how they VIneyard is doing a series right now that seems to be very directed at men, and how that’s cool because, statistically, it’s harder to get men to come to church than to get women to come. Here’s what she had to say:
…what it would look like if women were specifically and intentionally targeted in a celebration series (the way we often have to be intentional in targeting men)… i think i would call it, ‘i was an ugly duckling.’ and the weeks unfold like so:
-week 1: the swan eve was (and what went wrong)
-week 2: do you hear me, now? (a lesson on prayer)
-week 3: trading spaces (serving the people around you, seeing them through God’s eyes)
-week 4: a wedding story (a story about the Prince who came)
-week 5: a makeover story (God’s process of making us beautiful)
we could use aromatherapy in the auditorium… a girl could lead worship for the whole series (not naming names or anything… :))… i wonder if someone could get bath and body works to donate travel-size bottles of lotion or something that could be passed out with the programs?
