Jewish “Sex Commando” Targets Israeli Porn Websites
I find this article very interesting– and not a little bit funny! With the increase of technology in the Middle East, Israel is not the only country with powerful and extremely conservative religious sects to have a few issues. Many Islamic countries are seeking new ways to control the influx of Western media via the internet. Among their priorities are keeping out religious texts, Western political and feminist propaganda, and– pornography. And, as usual, they’ve gotten pretty creative about it– as this article indicates.
Jewish “Sex Commando” Targets Israeli Porn WebsitesÂÂ
Updated 4/11/2006 12:38 PM ET JERUSALEM (AFP)
A group of Jewish ultra-Orthodox hackers is waging
a war against pornographic websites, replacing their content with nothing but the picture of a revered rabbi, an Israeli paper reported Monday.
To fight what they see as an abomination, the ultra-Orthodox “sex commando” has so far targeted only Israeli-based websites, the mass-selling Yedioth Aharonot reported.
In one case the hackers scrapped the site’s entire contents.
Instead of seeing images of sexy girls, anyone who logs onto the site encounters the stern look of the white-bearded Rabbi Menahem Mendel Schneerson, the late leader of the popular Jewish Lubavitch movement.
Below his image appear the words “we, the Da-Net group, have hacked into this site and erased all its abomination.”
The group then describes the porn site as “a violation which has caused many people’s death, troubles and calamities.”

Ha, that’s funny. A while back I joked with some friends on a message board about “Hackers for Jesus.” (which does exist I later found out though they’re not maliciouos) Sounds like the Orthodox Jews beat us to the idea.

Okay, this post was interesting to me. So I guess that tells you lots about me, ha,ha. I found your site on the map because I’m traveling to the Dayton area this weekend. Any must see sites between Cin and Dayton? I’ll be in Springboro.
Oh, I’m a Probation Officer in NC specializing in Sex Offender Control.

Make sure you get to a Graeter’s Ice Cream while you’re here. You should be able to find locations on their website (google them).
Also have you heard of the book Weird Ohio? yeah, we’ve got a landmark that made the book. He’s affectionately known as the Neptune Jesus. From the Cincinnati Enquirer:
“It’s been covered by local, national and even international media. Now, the Solid Rock Church’s “King of Kings” sculpture - a 62-foot-tall wood and Styrofoam rendering of Jesus’s head and torso that reigns over a stretch of Interstate 75 in Monroe - has earned an entry in “Weird Ohio.”
“I don’t know how weird that is that a church would display Jesus,” co-pastor Darlene Bishop says. “But you know, any advertising is good advertising.”
I beg to differ. But it’s definitely something to keep your eyes peeled for it you’re driving I-75 near Exit #29 or 30. It’s hard to miss.
In Cincinnati itself, there’s a zoo, an art museum, the Reds, and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. There’s other stuff too but that’s what I know for sure is going on that week-end.
Oh, and the Global Night Commute (at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center). But you might prefer a hotel room to borrowing a sleeping bag and hitting the hay on the cold hard ground out in the open with a bunch of crazy demonstrators with temperatures in the 30s.
