Happy Midsummer’s Day!
That’s right, today is the summer solstice. The longest day of the year! So make it a good day. If you’re a girl, wear blue and yellow. And keep an eye out for fairies!

And if you’re a guy?

Don’t wear blue and yellow but still look for fairies! (The blue and yellow is for fertility and to bless the harvest.)
But who are we kidding? The only men who would dare be seen in the blue and yellow right now are Sweden fans. Lol! And Brazil I suppose, though they’ll have a healthy amount of green thrown in.

I definitely won’t be wearing blue and yellow! As to keeping my eye out for fairies…we’ll see!

Do you get fireflys there? (Or lightening bugs as we called them growing up) We don’t get them here in Colorado and I miss them! So if you see one tonight catch one for me!!

And Superman, obviously.
I’ve never managed to get to Stonehenge for the solstice; although it’s only been in the last couple of years they’ve let people back to the stones themselves for the big day (previous troubles have included suspected terroism and general hippy naughtiness. Must be all those fairies) We’ll add it to the list of “things to do when you get to this side of the Atlantic…”

What, no fireflies? Poor dear! The idea has never even occurred to me. What I’ll do if I ever move someplace where there aren’t fireflies, I don’t know. They make me feel like a kid again. They announce that yes, summer is here, and why on earth aren’t you running through the grass barefoot? Do so immediately!
I saw the first of the season a week ago. There aren’t as many near the apartment I live in because I’m in the middle of the city, but there are some; I’ll certainly catch one for you. This past week-end I went to my parents’ place and there were about a hundred. I loved it!

Phil, are there fireflies in England? Please say yes. This may be a major impediment. Lol!
