Hey, we could have an international recipe exchange! Pick something that exemplifies your country / region, and share them. Would Sam know how to advertise it? Then everybody could weigh in on somebody's blog. Oooh, we could make it holiday themed!

By the way, yes curry fries=chips with curry sauce.

Chowders are thick creamy soups. New England Clam Chowder is the most famous, and they do seem to frequently have seafood in them (they are quite popular in New England, you see, where the cold and wet winter wind blowing in off the Atlantic can be pretty raw-- lots of shimp and lobster chowders). But they can be made with anything really.

My favorite to make is Southwestern Corn Chowder. Lots of bell pepper and chili powder and cumin (the spice of the Gods), and I serve it with tortilla chips, grated cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream and another of salsa. Yum! You can add chicken but I'm generally too lazy to cook the chicken so I leave that bit out.

I'd love to go to FL, but sadly my finances are a bit strapped at the moment. There needs to be an interim category for conferences to go al ong with the "Student rate"; it could be called "I'm not a student any more but I haven't got a real job yet so I'm still broke." Lol. Of course even that wouldn't help me at the airlines. You'll have to take loads of notes for me!

I looove Yorkshire pudding! Despite the fact that he was raised in Illinois, my dad makes a mean English Sunday roast, complete with peas, new potatoes, and Yorkshire pudding. My whole family loves the pudding so much he has to make two or three for each of us! One time at Christmas we were supposed to go to my Grandmother's for dinner, but there was a blizzard on the 23rd and we got stuck at home (8 hour drive away). So we had to cook for just the five of us at the last minute. I talked my Dad into doing Sunday roast instead of a turkey! Yum.

Curry fries? Do you mean chips and curry sauce?! Don't worry Mel, I wouldn't know the first thing about chowders. Never had one. I've heard of clam chowder on films.

Oh, I know! One day, let's have a "cuisine of the world" get-together and just make stuff and try things we've never had before! You're welcome to come to mine but our kitchen is tiny!

Ahhh, curry fries! The only way to get them in my neighborhood is to go to the Gyro place and buy the fries first, then take them to the Indian take-out around the corner and ask them to pour curry sauce on top. But boy, are they good!
