My body is tingling in anticipation of a cup right now... I knew I wanted it today, and now I know I must have it; that dark brew is the nectar of the gods. There is hope to keep on living. From one emotional addict to another... thanks for sharing Mel.

Thanks, Dave. Yes, "penny universities" (as coffee shops came to be called) in Paris, Vienna, and London were the places where brilliant philosophers, politicians, artists, and businessmen gathered to discuss new ideas and even to do business. It was said that you could learn as much in a coffee shop as from studying for classes, all for a penny- the price of a cup of coffee.

This is great! I'm not a coffee drinker myself, but a lover of a good mug of cider. And did you know that coffee houses 500 years ago were known as places of learning and wisdom because of the conversations that happened there?
